Customer’s Expectation:

To take an existing design and increase manufacturability to decrease overall cost and robustness; increase throughput of both upstream and downstream production line. Also asked to look at specific problematic systems and arrive at cost effective solutions.

Challenges Presented:

Customer needed to reduce overall costs of machined parts and vacuum systems that required additional process capabilities and knowledge. The customer also required in-feed and out-feed automation to increase throughput of production process that required innovation relative to tooling design and robotics performance.

MME’s Custom Solutions:

MME, in working with its engineers, designers and vendors, identified numerous components and functional systems that had inherent inefficiencies and less robust processes and materials. After evaluation, MME was able to replace these components and systems with more cost and process efficient materials while also manufacturing key components in a way that significantly reduced costs associated with the their previous systems.

Functional & Economic Benefits to Customer:

Reduction of the cost of key materials allowed the customer to offer significant cost reductions to key accounts and allowed them to be more competitive in the global marketplace. Process improvements both up and downstream allowed for reduced bottlenecks to allow greater production flow, thereby enabling greater throughput for the systems, in turn reducing costs even further.
